Indianapolis, IN - The Indianapolis Colts produced nearly twice as many offensive yards as the Tennessee Titans, but their Week 6 meeting remained competitive all the way to a 27-24 Indianapolis victory.
The Colts finished with 409 offensive yards, including 220 on the ground, and established the game's steadier advantage before Tennessee narrowed the margin. Indianapolis never turned its statistical edge into a runaway, but it emerged with its second consecutive victory after entering the afternoon 2-3.
Indianapolis recorded 21 first downs to Tennessee's 10 and converted 9 of 16 third downs. The Titans went 2-for-12 in those situations, creating one of the clearest contrasts in a game ultimately separated by only three points.
"There were stretches where we were moving the ball the way we wanted, but the score tells you we still had to stay locked in," Riley Leonard said. "We had contributions from a lot of different places. That's what I liked most about it."
Leonard completed 17 of 29 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown while adding 54 rushing yards on 10 carries. His longest completion covered 23 yards, and his longest run went for 22. Daniel Jones contributed 24 passing yards on 3-of-4 accuracy, bringing the Colts to 189 passing yards for the game.
The backfield production extended beyond the quarterbacks. Will Mallory rushed seven times for 53 yards, with a long of 23, as Indianapolis assembled a deep ground effort rather than leaning on a single featured runner. The Colts averaged enough production across the offense to finish with 196 more offensive yards than the Titans.
Keenan Allen led the Indianapolis receiving group with five catches for 59 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Warren added four receptions for 41 yards, while Josh Downs caught three passes for 37 yards and supplied the Colts' longest reception of the day at 23 yards.
"You want to make every target count," Allen said. "I was able to get into the end zone, but the bigger thing is that we had several guys involved. We weren't asking one person to carry the whole passing game."
The red-zone totals also favored Indianapolis. The Colts made four trips inside the Tennessee 20 and recorded two touchdowns and a field goal. Tennessee reached the red zone twice but finished those possessions without a touchdown or field goal. Neither defense recorded an interception, and each side registered one sack.
Tennessee's offense took a far different route to its 24 points. Mitchell Trubisky completed 7 of 20 passes for 48 yards and a touchdown, while Cam Ward went 6 of 12 for 41 yards and another score. Together, the Titans finished with 89 passing yards and no completion longer than 12 yards.
Carnell Tate caught three passes for 26 yards and a touchdown from the Tennessee passing attack. Ja’Tavion Sanders also scored, finishing with three catches for 20 yards. Those touchdowns gave the Titans meaningful production despite the limited passing yardage, and Tennessee continued to apply pressure after Indianapolis created separation.
Nick Singleton was Tennessee's most productive runner, gaining 83 yards on 11 carries with a long of 25. Tyjae Spears added a 29-yard rush on his only carry, and the Titans finished with 124 rushing yards overall.
"We had some good runs, but we didn't stay on the field consistently enough," Singleton said. "When you finish with that few first downs and struggle on third down, there are going to be possessions where you feel like you left more out there."
The final score reflected Tennessee's ability to compress the margin more than the overall yardage totals. Indianapolis held advantages in offensive yards, rushing yards, passing yards, first downs, third-down conversions and red-zone scoring, yet the Titans remained within a field goal at the finish.
For the Colts, the narrow result carried the same value as a comfortable one. Indianapolis followed its Week 5 win with another victory, this time pairing 220 rushing yards with an efficient 9-for-16 performance on third down. Tennessee, which entered Week 6 at 3-2, absorbed its second consecutive loss.
