Philadelphia, PA - Jake Elliott drilled a 42-yard field goal with 1:36 remaining to break a 17-17 tie, and the Philadelphia Eagles held off one final Dallas possession for a 20-17 Week 7 victory over the Cowboys.

Jalen Hurts completed 21 of 25 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns, finishing with a 133.9 passer rating without an interception. His second touchdown gave Philadelphia a fourth-quarter lead before Dallas answered, setting up Elliott’s late kick and a tense finish.

Dallas struck first when Dak Prescott connected with Malik Davis for a 34-yard touchdown with 3:05 remaining in the opening quarter. Philadelphia answered in the second when Hurts found Makai Lemon for a 6-yard touchdown with 8:32 left.

The Eagles pulled even before halftime, adding a 17-yard field goal with only one second remaining in the second quarter to send the game into the break tied 10-10.

Brandon Aubrey gave Dallas its only points of the third quarter with a 23-yard field goal at 4:07, putting the Cowboys back in front 10-7?

Hold up - don’t use that sentence. Looking at the quarter scoring at the top of your screenshot, Philadelphia scored 10 in the second quarter, so the halftime score was 10-7 Philadelphia, not 10-10. Aubrey’s third-quarter field goal then tied it 10-10.

So the correct continuation is:

Philadelphia carried a 10-7 lead into halftime after adding a 17-yard field goal with only one second remaining in the second quarter. Aubrey answered with a 23-yard field goal at 4:07 of the third, tying the game at 10-10 heading into the fourth.

That set up the game’s decisive stretch.

With 7:38 remaining, Hurts connected with DeVonta Smith for a 40-yard touchdown, giving Philadelphia a 17-10 advantage. Dallas answered less than three minutes later when Davis scored on a 7-yard run with 5:20 left, his second touchdown of the game, and Aubrey’s extra point tied it at 17.

Philadelphia then mounted the possession that produced the final points. Hurts connected with Marquise Brown for 15 yards during the drive, and even after Dallas dropped him for a 7-yard sack, Elliott came on facing fourth-and-15 from the Cowboys’ 25. His 42-yard field goal was good with 1:36 remaining, putting Philadelphia back in front 20-17.

Dallas still had one final opportunity.

Shavon Revel Jr. returned the ensuing kickoff 32 yards, and Prescott immediately found Davis for eight. Emari Demercado then carried three times as the Cowboys advanced to the Philadelphia 42 with less than 30 seconds remaining.

But Dallas could get no farther. Prescott’s pass intended for CeeDee Lamb fell incomplete with 17 seconds left, and on the next snap he was sacked for an 11-yard loss with 13 seconds remaining. Philadelphia escaped with the three-point victory.

"We were accurate, and a lot of different guys gave us something in the passing game," Hurts said. "There are still areas where we can be better, especially when we get inside the 20, but winning a close game gives us something positive to build on."

Smith posted game highs with 73 receiving yards and a 40-yard reception, finishing with four catches and a touchdown. Lemon added four catches for 45 yards and a score, while Dallas Goedert caught six passes for 57 yards.

Philadelphia’s passing advantage helped offset a stronger Dallas rushing performance. The Eagles finished with 80 rushing yards, led by Saquon Barkley’s 59 on 15 carries. Dallas totaled 128 rushing yards, 48 more than Philadelphia.

Davis supplied the Cowboys’ most versatile performance. He rushed nine times for a game-high 64 yards and a touchdown while adding four receptions for 46 yards and another score, accounting for both Dallas touchdowns.

"I wanted to give us something wherever I could," Davis said. "We had opportunities all the way to the end. In a game that close, every possession and every play matters."

Prescott completed 14 of 21 passes for 142 yards and one touchdown, producing a 101.6 passer rating without an interception. Jake Ferguson added four receptions for 34 yards, while Javonte Williams contributed 40 rushing yards on 11 carries.

Philadelphia made five trips inside the Dallas red zone and came away with one touchdown and two field goals. The Cowboys reached the red zone three times, scoring one touchdown and one field goal.

The Cowboys finished with 15 first downs compared with Philadelphia’s 14, but neither team consistently converted on third down. The Eagles went 4-for-10, while Dallas finished 3-for-10. The Cowboys converted both of their fourth-down attempts, while Philadelphia went 1-for-2.

Neither defense recorded an interception. Philadelphia finished with two sacks, including the late takedown of Prescott on Dallas’ final possession, while the Cowboys recorded one.

The win moved Philadelphia to 5-2 and gave the Eagles a close divisional victory after entering the week coming off a loss. Dallas fell to 2-5 despite matching Philadelphia deep into the fourth quarter and getting one final opportunity after Elliott’s go-ahead kick.
