It was over when:
With 1:25 left in the 4th quarter and the Vikings trailing the Cowboys by 6 points, the Vikings began their last drive of the game from their own 1 yard line. They managed to pick up 10 yards after a pass from QB Christian Ponder was caught by WR Jerome Simpson, after picking up the 1st down they nearly gave the Cowboys the ball back on a fumble that was recovered by Vikings RG Taylor Kanda. Two plays Vikings WR Percy Harvin caught a pass to pickup 15 yards and give the Vikings another first down with 35 seconds left in the game, Vikings called their second time out of the game.
Following the time out, on 1st&10, Christian Ponder tried to get the deep ball to WR Jarius Wright but was unable to make the catch after getting hit by Cowboys FS Gerald Sensabaugh. 2&10 with 30 seconds left in the game, Christian Ponder tried to pass to his TE Kyle Rudolph but is nearly intercepted by Cowboys MLB Sean Lee who just could not hold on to the ball. Two plays later the on 4th&10 and running out of time, Christian Ponder again tried to get a pass to TE Kyle Rudolph, this time however the pass would be intercepted by Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins. That was all the Cowboys needed to seal this one by a final of 23-17.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey came through when called upon. Bailey was 3 for 3 on field goal tries, he kicked a 52, 46 and a 44 yard field goal. “Those 9 points he got on the board for us were huge, specially when we were only able to get in the red zone twice. We struggled a bit on offense today, we’ve been hit with some injuries so we’ll take points any way we can.” said Cowboys head coach Andres Perez.
