Atlanta, GA — Matt Ryan was asked after practice on Wednesday what the team needs most to improve on. “the run game. if we can run the ball, we can hang with anyone.”
Sunday afternoon the Cincinnati Bengals got a taste of what that looks like. The Atlanta Falcons ran the ball. then they ran some more. And when they were done running, they ran again.
In Sunday’s match-up with the Bengals the Falcons rushed for 236 yards. Leading the way, Devonta Freeman rushed 23 times for 159 yards, followed by Tevin Coleman who gained 79 yards on 16 carries. The latter finished the day with 3 rushing TD’s, which could have been 4 TD’s had it not been for a controversial holding call on a long kickoff return in the 3rd quarter.
When it was all said and done, the two RB’s could be seen lauding there offensive line on the way into the locker room. “Those hog mollies up front, that’s who you want to talk to. without them, me and free don’t gain a yard” explained Coleman. Veteran center Alex Mack spoke for the group ” we have heard the chatter around the league. this guy ahs skills, that guy is good. etc….. We play ball down here. We grind. and with those two toting the rock, we are gonna be a force to be reckoned with.”
Certainly the play on the field speaks for itself. If this team can continue to stay hot, and ride this wave, maybe we ill see them come playoff time. As for now, its off to face the struggling 1-3 Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bengals uh. Need to work on tackling…
That run was crazy!
Freeman looking like a freight train! Choo Choo.
Interesting running game. Can they run themselves to Atlanta’s hosted Superbowl 53? Time shall tell.
That run was nasty! Curious if that ran lead to Tevin Coleman being shipped around??
That run was really impressive and looked like Beast Mode 3.0!!
