Matthew Stafford throws four TDs as Los Angeles Rams hand Philadelphia Eagles first loss, 38-32 in Week 4

Philadelphia, PA - Matthew Stafford threw four touchdown passes, Puka Nacua delivered 157 receiving yards and the Los Angeles Rams ended the Philadelphia Eagles' unbeaten start with a 38-32 victory in Week 4.

Los Angeles entered the game needing a response after dropping two of its first three contests. The Rams produced one against an Eagles team that had won three straight, establishing an advantage and continuing to answer as Philadelphia's high-volume passing attack narrowed the margin.

The final score reflected a competitive game, but the statistical profile was unusual. Philadelphia finished with 516 offensive yards and 22 first downs, surpassing Los Angeles' totals of 404 offensive yards and 16 first downs. The Eagles also held a 391-265 advantage in passing yards.

None of that prevented the Rams from leaving Philadelphia with the win.

Stafford completed 18 of 36 passes for 265 yards and finished with a 111.4 passer rating. His four touchdown throws went to three receivers, with Nacua scoring twice and Davante Adams and Colby Parkinson adding one touchdown reception apiece.

"We knew there would be pressure to keep producing because their offense was moving the ball," Stafford said. "There were some stretches where we could have been cleaner, but we stayed aggressive. Four touchdown passes are great, but the important part is finishing the day with the win."

Nacua supplied the most explosive receiving line for Los Angeles, catching seven passes and accounting for more than half of Stafford's passing yardage. His longest reception covered 70 yards, matching the longest completion of Stafford's day.

"The opportunities were there, and I wanted to make the most of every one," Nacua said. "They were putting up yards on the other side, so our focus was on continuing to respond and not letting our approach change."

The Rams also received a 100-yard performance from Kyren Williams, who rushed 21 times for 125 yards and a touchdown. Los Angeles finished with 139 rushing yards overall. Williams' longest run went for 27 yards, giving the offense another productive dimension alongside Stafford's four-touchdown passing performance.

Philadelphia remained productive throughout the game and pushed the Rams with a far busier passing attack. Jalen Hurts completed 32 of 42 passes for 391 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, posting a 110.3 passer rating. The Eagles repeatedly trimmed the separation but never completely erased the Rams' advantage.

DeVonta Smith was at the center of Philadelphia's aerial production. He caught 11 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown, including a 70-yard reception. Dallas Goedert added seven catches for 61 yards and a touchdown, giving Hurts two reliable targets in a game in which Philadelphia threw 42 passes.

"The yards show that we were able to move the football, but the result is what matters," Hurts said. "I have to own the interception, and as an offense we have to look at where we left opportunities out there. We scored 32, and today that wasn't enough."

The Eagles also rushed for 125 yards. Saquon Barkley led that effort with 83 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries, including a 39-yard run.

Philadelphia converted 7 of 17 third downs compared with Los Angeles' 5 of 15. The Eagles were unsuccessful on both of their fourth-down attempts, while the Rams converted their only fourth-down try. Each defense generated pressure, with Los Angeles recording three sacks and Philadelphia finishing with two. The Rams also registered the game's only interception.

Both teams had uneven results inside the 20. Los Angeles made four red-zone trips and came away with one touchdown and one field goal, while Philadelphia scored one touchdown and one field goal across three red-zone visits.

For the Eagles, the defeat ended both a perfect opening to the season and a three-game winning streak. Philadelphia fell to 3-1 despite its advantage in offensive yards and Smith's 200-yard receiving performance. Los Angeles, meanwhile, secured a six-point road win against a team that had not previously lost.
