Green Bay, WI - Jordan Love completed 32 of 37 passes for 349 yards and three touchdowns, and the Green Bay Packers emerged with a 34-33 victory over the Chicago Bears in Week 5.
The one-point result capped a game featuring 807 offensive yards, matching first-down totals and sharply different efficiency profiles. Green Bay finished with 425 offensive yards, including 349 through the air, while Chicago produced 382 offensive yards. Each team recorded 23 first downs.
Love was the most efficient passer on the field, posting a 121.7 passer rating while throwing only five incompletions. His three touchdown passes went to Christian Watson, Josh Jacobs and Ashton Dulin, and his longest completion covered 53 yards.
"There was a lot to like about how consistently we moved the ball through the passing game," Love said. "Completing that many throws means guys were getting opportunities and finishing them. In a one-point game, you appreciate the result, but you also know every possession and every mistake carries weight."
Watson supplied Green Bay's biggest receiving performance with seven catches for 147 yards and a touchdown. His 53-yard reception was the Packers' longest completion, and he accounted for more than 40 percent of Love's passing yardage.
"When the ball came my way, I wanted to turn the opportunity into something for the offense," Watson said. "Jordan was accurate all game, and that gave us a chance to put together a productive day through the air. Winning by one shows how little separation there was on the scoreboard."
Jacobs contributed in both phases of Green Bay's offense. He rushed 20 times for 67 yards and a touchdown, including a 31-yard run, then added five receptions for 19 yards and another score. The Packers finished with 76 rushing yards overall, with Love adding nine yards on four carries.
Chicago answered with substantial production from Caleb Williams, even though his passing line contained more volatility. Williams completed 18 of 30 attempts for 266 yards and four touchdowns, finishing with a 100.8 passer rating. He also threw two interceptions.
Rome Odunze was Chicago's leading receiver, catching five passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. His 56-yard reception was the longest completion of the game. Colston Loveland added four catches for 46 yards and a score, while Zavion Thomas recorded two receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown.
"There were good things in the passing game, and four touchdown throws should give an offense confidence," Williams said. "The two interceptions are part of the line that I have to own, too. Losing by one makes you look at everything because the margin in the final score was so small."
The Bears held the stronger rushing total, gaining 116 yards compared with Green Bay's 76. D’Andre Swift carried 15 times for 76 yards and a touchdown, while Williams added 26 yards on two attempts.
Chicago also posted the better third-down and red-zone figures. The Bears converted seven of nine third downs and scored five touchdowns across six red-zone trips. Green Bay went 3-for-9 on third down, converted one of two fourth-down attempts and scored two touchdowns in five red-zone visits.
Those numbers gave the game an unusual statistical contrast: Chicago was more efficient on third down and converted a higher share of its red-zone opportunities, while Green Bay owned a 43-yard advantage in offensive production and an 83-yard advantage in passing yards.
The interception totals provided another difference between the teams. Green Bay's defense picked off Williams twice, while Chicago recorded one interception against Love. Kyler Gordon made the Bears' interception and returned it 29 yards. Neither defense registered a sack.
There was no shortage of offensive output on either side. Green Bay had the more accurate quarterback performance and the game's leading receiver, while Chicago countered with four touchdown passes, a 100-yard receiver and markedly better conversion rates on third down and in the red zone.
Ultimately, the Packers left Week 5 with the only number that separated the teams decisively: a 34-33 final score. Love's 349 passing yards and three touchdowns headlined Green Bay's offensive performance in the narrow victory.
