Charlotte,NC- Newton had surgery in March to repair a partially torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder. He wasn’t cleared to begin a full throwing program until Carolina’s second preseason game against the Tennessee Titans.
Newton is listed as questionable for week one of the regular season, but all reports have him suiting up. “The only reason he’s listed as questionable is because that’s what the form says, I’m telling you guys I believe the guy is ready to roll. I really do mean it. I’m pretty confident in his abilities and hopefully things will fall into place nicely for us on Sunday.” Coach Mark Miller said Friday afternoon.
“I know coach is happy because if he weren’t able to suit up they’d be left using backup Derek Anderson and would most likely have to install a completely different game plan on Sunday.” said all star wide receiver
