East Rutherford, NJ - Antonio Gibson delivered the biggest rushing performance of the game, piling up 234 yards and three touchdowns as the New York Jets defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 37-18 in Week 8.

The victory ended a three-game losing streak for New York, which produced 472 offensive yards and repeatedly finished its opportunities inside the 20. The Jets reached the red zone seven times, scoring four touchdowns and kicking three field goals.

Gibson was at the center of the offense throughout the game. He handled a game-high 26 rushing attempts, averaged nine yards per carry and broke a game-long 47-yard run. His impact extended beyond the backfield, as he also caught three passes for a game-high 86 receiving yards.

"I wanted to be decisive every time I got the ball," Gibson said. "The opportunities kept coming, and I tried to get as much as I could out of every touch. More than anything, it feels good to finish this one with a win."

New York finished with 275 rushing yards compared with 115 for Las Vegas, a 160-yard difference that defined the most pronounced statistical contrast of the afternoon. The Jets also recorded 21 first downs and converted five of nine third downs, along with their only fourth-down attempt.

Deshaun Watson complemented the rushing production with an efficient passing line. He completed 10 of 14 attempts for 213 yards and a 113.6 passer rating, with a long completion of 40 yards. The Jets finished with 197 passing yards after accounting for sacks, giving them the same team passing total as the Raiders.

"Efficiency was the biggest thing for me," Watson said. "We didn't need to force the ball. When there was an opportunity to get it down the field, we took it, and the run game gave us a lot of production."

Gibson reached the end zone on a 1-yard run with 1:24 remaining in the first quarter. He ultimately finished with three rushing touchdowns, while Isaiah Davis added a 3-yard touchdown run with 4:59 left in the second quarter.

The kickers also contributed during the second quarter. Matt Gay connected from 27 yards for Las Vegas at the 7:17 mark. With one second remaining in the half, Jason Sanders made a 25-yard field goal for New York.

The Jets' defense recorded two sacks and intercepted Aidan O’Connell three times. O’Connell completed 15 of 28 passes for a game-high 214 yards and one touchdown, but his three interceptions left him with a 50.8 passer rating.

"Three interceptions are too many, no matter what else you do," O’Connell said. "There were some throws we completed and some production we can build from, but I have to take better care of the football."

Las Vegas finished with 312 offensive yards and converted six of 10 third downs. The Raiders reached the red zone three times, coming away with one touchdown and one field goal, and converted one of their two fourth-down attempts.

A.J. Dillon supplied 109 yards on 18 carries, including a 26-yard run. Tre Tucker caught four passes for 83 yards and a touchdown, with his game-long 65-yard reception accounting for much of that production. Brock Bowers led the Raiders with six catches and added 78 receiving yards.

Even with productive outings from Dillon, Tucker and Bowers, Las Vegas could not match New York's overall output. The Jets finished with 160 more offensive yards, and their defense's three interceptions stood opposite a Raiders unit that recorded two sacks but no takeaways.

For New York, the result provided a direct answer to its recent slide. Gibson supplied 320 combined rushing and receiving yards, Watson completed more than 71% of his passes, and the Jets walked away with a 19-point victory that stopped their losing streak at three games.

Up Next

The Jets will travel to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9 looking to build on the win, while the Raiders will remain on the road for a matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.
