Atlanta, GA – The San Francisco 49ers make a statement with a huge win on the road as they dominate the Atlanta Falcons to earn their 3rd straight win

It was over when

The game got out of hand early as the 49ers took a 21 point lead to end the first half and then with 5:44 left in the 3rd the game would truly be out of reach as the 49ers would score again to take a 28 point lead. In the end the 49ers went on to beat the Falcons 42-21.

Game Ball

The entire 49ers defense deserves this weeks game ball. The defense had 2 interceptions, one of which was returned 85 yards for a touchdown, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, allowed 227 passing yards and 95 rushing yards. “It was just one of those nights, where everything was going our way. We have been playing with a lot of confidence since the start of the season, we feel even stronger then last year.” said 49ers cornerback Jacob Lacey.

Key Stat

The Atlanta Falcons turn overs was a big issue in today’s lost. They also allowed a punt return to give the 49ers a 14 to nothing lead late in the 1st quarter. Coach Davis was not happy with his team’s effort to say the least “It’s embarrassing. To come out and not be prepared, not be ready to start when that clock starts was just embarrassing. Not to take way from the other team, they are a very very good football team and coached very well, which is why it is so important to be ready. We’ll talk about this tomorrow and get ready for a hard week of practice in preparation for next week’s game”

  • This was the first game in which the 49ers allowed more then 7 points.
  • Coach Nguyen’s overall record is now 18-1, his only loss was in last season’s Super Bowl.
