Las Vegas, NV - Ashton Jeanty opened the season with a 131-yard rushing performance, and the Las Vegas Raiders defeated the Miami Dolphins 18-10 in Week 1.

Jeanty carried 20 times and accounted for nearly all of Las Vegas' 133 rushing yards. His longest run covered 19 yards, giving the Raiders consistent production without relying on one oversized gain. Miami finished with 51 rushing yards, leaving Las Vegas with an 82-yard advantage on the ground.

That was the sharpest statistical contrast in a game otherwise defined by modest offensive totals and limited separation in passing production. The Raiders finished with 270 offensive yards and 18 first downs, while the Dolphins recorded 196 offensive yards and 13 first downs. Miami actually held a narrow edge in passing yards, 145-137, but Las Vegas had far more production from its rushing attack.

"I wanted every carry to give us something we could use," Jeanty said. "You don't need to chase one big number on one run. You keep taking what's there, stay patient and try to make the entire workload count."

Las Vegas quarterback Fernando Mendoza completed 17 of 28 passes for 154 yards and a 75.5 passer rating. His longest completion went for 17 yards, and his receiving production was spread across several targets. Tyreek Hill caught four passes for 52 yards, Jack Bech added four receptions for 35 yards and Brock Bowers finished with two catches for 27 yards.

The Raiders' red-zone numbers offered an unusual snapshot of their 18-point output. Las Vegas made four trips inside the Miami 20-yard line and finished those possessions with four field goals and no touchdowns. Miami reached the red zone once and scored a touchdown on that opportunity.

"Four trips and four field goals means we came away with points, but it also shows where the offense can be sharper," Mendoza said. "We moved the ball enough to get opportunities. The next step is finishing more of those opportunities with touchdowns."

Neither team created a notable third-down advantage. Miami converted 4 of 9 attempts, compared with Las Vegas' 4-for-10 showing. The Raiders converted their only fourth-down try, while the Dolphins went 0-for-1.

Malik Willis completed 13 of 20 passes for 160 yards, one touchdown and one interception for Miami. He posted an 85.4 passer rating and produced the longest completion of the game at 43 yards. JuJu Smith-Schuster supplied much of the Dolphins' downfield production with three receptions for 62 yards, including a 43-yard catch.

Jalen Tolbert caught two passes for 15 yards and scored Miami's receiving touchdown. The Dolphins also received four catches for 32 yards from Greg Dulcich, but Miami's passing production was accompanied by the game's only interception.

"There are pieces of the passing game we can build on, but I can't give the ball away," Willis said. "We had a touchdown and some completions that moved us, but the standard has to be cleaner than that. Ten points isn't enough for us."

Miami's rushing output remained limited despite 16 carries for De’Von Achane. He finished with 44 yards, with a longest run of 10 yards. Jeanty exceeded Achane's total by 87 yards on four additional attempts, illustrating the substantial difference between the teams on the ground.

Both defenses recorded two sacks. Kwity Paye was credited with two sacks individually, while the Raiders also finished with one interception. Miami did not record an interception.

The Week 1 result belonged to a Las Vegas team that recorded more offensive yards, more first downs and four successful red-zone field goals. Jeanty's 131 yards stood as the game's leading individual performance, and the Raiders left their opener with an 18-10 victory over the Dolphins.
