SALEM, OR — The 2K Online Franchise’s Week 6 power rankings have arrived, and while the New York Jets hold steady at the top, several teams have made significant moves after a wild Week 5. Teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers skyrocketed, while others like the Minnesota Vikings tumbled due to a porous defense that continues to plague them. Let’s dive into the biggest risers, fallers, and where everyone stands heading into Week 6.
Biggest Movers
The Buccaneers Surge, Atlanta Falcons Fall After a dominant 56-15 win over the Falcons, the Buccaneers made the biggest leap, climbing 10 spots to land at #18. Tampa Bay’s offense finally clicked, putting up big numbers both on the ground and through the air. The Buccaneers’ recent resurgence sets them up for a potential climb up the NFC South standings.
Conversely, the Falcons, who were blown out in that same matchup, saw a significant fall, dropping 6 spots to #24. Atlanta’s defense was outclassed, and they’ll need to regroup fast as they head into a Week 6 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
Jets and Eagles Stay on Top
At the top of the rankings, the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles are sitting comfortably. The Jets, now 5-0, continue to assert dominance after their 60-50 shootout win over the Vikings. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been elite, and New York’s offense looks unstoppable, putting up 40 or more points for the third time this season. As for the Eagles, they remain undefeated after a bye week and are preparing to take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 6.
Texans Climbing the Ladder
The Houston Texans made a solid move, jumping up two spots to #3 after another win, this time a 42-35 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Ty Chandler continued his dominant season with a monster performance, running for 216 yards and three touchdowns. Houston’s offense is firing on all cylinders, and they’re gearing up for a Week 6 showdown against the New England Patriots.
Vikings’ Defensive Struggles Continue
While the Vikings’ 2-3 record might not seem terrible, their defense has been abysmal, leading to a drastic drop in the rankings. Falling 5 spots to #20, the Vikings gave up 60 points to the Jets in Week 5, and their defense now ranks last in points against and total yards allowed. According to league stats, the Vikings are giving up an eye-popping 45.4 points per game (worst in the league) and 2,169 total yards (also ranked 32nd).
The primary issue for Minnesota has been their inability to stop the pass, allowing 301 passing yards per game (28th in the league) and failing to generate consistent pressure. Linebacker Blake Cashman has been a bright spot with his ability to make plays, but as a unit, Minnesota’s defense is on track for one of the worst statistical seasons in franchise history. “It’s on me, I have to be better,” said Vikings defensive coordinator. “We’ve got the talent, but right now we aren’t executing.”
