Josh Johnson in Practice

In what started out as a great season for QB Josh Johnson, has recently took a turn for the worst. Josh has committed 6 interceptions in the last two games. Recently the Lions took a beating to the Eagles 65-20 while Josh threw 4 int’s with 1 TD.

His season totals are now 9 TD’s 12 INTS with 1366 Passing yards. He has rushed the ball effectively on the bright side with 172 yards 5 TD’s  on 48 carries. The Oregon style NFL offense started out unstoppable and even one game with 600+ total offensive yards. Coach Morales has said he is on a short leech and will not be afraid to pull him for rookie Jordan Jefferson who has showed promise in a few outings this season.

Not to mention one of the Lions best Running Backs Daryl Richardson is out for 4 weeks. Coach Morales said “He is more of a duel threat player. He plays WR, RB and some QB. He does it all, we plan to use him more”. While Daryl has been making his team happy. Wideout Calvin Johnson has been struggling of late. While only being held to 1 grab last week. While all this is happening the defense is playing horrible of late and needs to change in order to be successful.

“We are gonna keep running our offense, when it works its hard to stop” said Josh Johnson “I’ve been struggling but I promise it will turn around”. With the Lions at 2-3 they are going to need all the help they can get. Coach Morales mentioned players like Trindon Holiday, Danny Amendola, Brandon Lafell, Stafon Logan and Deonte Thompson to get more involved saying “their all great talents and have each shown speed like no other this year, I just need to find ways to distribute it”. This team should be an interesting one to watch as the year continues
