It was over when:

With under 6 minutes to go in the game and the Cowboys trailing the Redskins 23-31. The Cowboys began their drive at the their own 10 yard line. Tony Romo threw a pass to the left, thinking WR Ben Obomanu was open, the pass would be intercepted by the Redskins Josh Wilson. The Redskins would score two plays later to make it a 15 point game. Even though the Cowboys would score on their next possession to cut the deficit to 8 again, they failed to recover their onside kick allowing the Redskins to run out the clock and win the game.

Game Ball

This week’s game ball goes to Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon. Garcons had just 4 catches and all 4 were touchdowns, including a 72 yard touchdown with no time left in the first half. He finished the night with 107 yards catching on 4 catches.

Key Stat

The Cowboys inability to stop the Redskins passing attack, just like last season, proved to be the difference. A perfect example came right before the half, after intercepting a Redskins pass and kicking a field goal to put the Cowboys just 1 point behind. The Redskins managed to scored on an 72 yard pass with zero time left on the clock. “It was embarrasing, we had two guys on their receiver and he still came up with the play. It’s something I will make sure to address this week in practice.” said Cowboys head coach Andres Perez.
