BALTIMORE, MARYLAND — The Pittsburgh Steelers avenged last season’s sweep at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens, emerging victorious in a hard-fought 33-22 battle at M&T Bank Stadium. Led by clutch special teams play and a relentless defensive performance, the Steelers handed the Ravens their first loss of the season.
Game Recap
The Ravens struck first in the opening quarter as Lamar Jackson connected with Derrick Henry for a 9-yard touchdown. Pittsburgh kicker Chris Boswell answered with a 47-yard field goal to cut the lead to 7-3.
Pittsburgh’s defense stepped up in the second quarter when Minkah Fitzpatrick returned an interception 69 yards for a touchdown, flipping momentum squarely in favor of the Steelers. Boswell added two field goals, including a 49-yarder, as the visitors took a 13-7 lead into halftime.
The Ravens responded in the third quarter with another Henry touchdown run, this time from 7 yards out. However, Pittsburgh countered in the fourth with a clinical offensive performance. Quarterback Russell Wilson hit tight end Pat Freiermuth for a 36-yard touchdown pass. Wilson’s efficiency combined with Boswell’s precision—hitting four field goals on the day—secured the victory.
“We knew we had to stay focused all four quarters,” said Wilson after the game. “Baltimore is a tough opponent, but this win shows the grit of our team.”
Jackson struggled against Pittsburgh’s aggressive defense, throwing three interceptions despite leading a late fourth-quarter scoring drive. Henry, who finished with two touchdowns, was one of the few bright spots for Baltimore.
