CHARLOTTE, NC — The Detroit Lions headed to North Carolina with hopes of upsetting the second best team in the NFC at home. The Carolina Panthers however, had other ideas and when the dust settled it was the Panthers who would advance to the NFC Championship game.
Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton handed the ball to his HB DeAngelo William who rushed it in for his third touchdown of the game, this one a 3-yarder with 1:10 remaining in the third quarter. The score gave the Panthers a 28-0 lead, that proved to be more than enough on this night.
