East Rutherford, NJ - Marvin Mims Jr delivered two touchdown receptions and 138 receiving yards as the Miami Dolphins ended a three-game losing streak with a 27-24 victory over the New York Jets in Week 7.

Miami entered the game at 1-4 and searching for its first victory in four outings. The Dolphins finished with a narrow three-point victory in a game where the teams were separated by only three yards of total offense.

Malik Willis supplied the Dolphins with explosive production through the air, completing 17 of 30 passes for 260 yards and two touchdowns. Both scoring passes went to Mims, whose four receptions produced a team-high 138 yards. Willis finished with two interceptions and a 79.8 passer rating, reflecting an afternoon that mixed major gains with costly mistakes. His longest completion covered 77 yards.

"Two interceptions are two possessions I want back," Willis said. "But we stayed aggressive and kept looking for opportunities. Marvin gave us a big target, and when the ball went his way, he turned those chances into production."

Mims averaged more than 34 yards per catch and was the only Miami receiver to reach the end zone. JuJu Smith-Schuster provided the steadier volume underneath, catching six passes for 86 yards. Together, they accounted for 224 of Miami’s 260 passing yards.

"I just wanted to be ready whenever my number came up," Mims said. "There were chances for us to get the ball down the field, and I tried to finish every opportunity. More than anything, we needed to get out of here with a win."

The Dolphins also had a productive rushing complement. De’Von Achane carried 16 times for 92 yards and scored Miami’s lone rushing touchdown, while Willis added 37 yards on seven attempts. Miami finished with 137 rushing yards and 397 offensive yards, narrowly exceeding New York’s 394-yard total.

The similarity in overall production was one of the defining statistical features of the game. New York held a 282-260 advantage in passing yards, while Miami gained 25 more yards on the ground. The Jets recorded 13 first downs to the Dolphins’ 11 and converted 6 of 16 third downs. Miami went 3-for-12 on third down.

Deshaun Watson completed 22 of 39 passes for 282 yards, one touchdown and one interception for New York. His longest completion went for 76 yards, and Omar Cooper Jr. was the clear centerpiece of the Jets’ passing game. Cooper caught nine passes for 161 yards and New York’s only receiving touchdown.

Watson also gave the Jets their strongest rushing production, gaining 62 yards on eight attempts and scoring a touchdown. Breece Hall added 42 yards on 10 carries as New York totaled 112 yards on the ground.

"We moved the ball and gave ourselves opportunities, but 24 points wasn’t enough today," Watson said. "There were good stretches, but the result is what stays with you. We have to be cleaner with the chances we get."

Turnovers were part of the story for both sides. The Jets intercepted Willis twice and recorded one sack. Miami’s defense answered with three sacks and one interception of Watson. Jordyn Brooks added one forced fumble and recovered two fumbles for the Dolphins.

"When the ball comes loose, the job isn’t finished until somebody has it," Brooks said. "I was able to get to a couple of them, and those are the kinds of opportunities you have to secure."

Red-zone production remained limited. Miami made two trips inside the New York 20 without scoring a touchdown, coming away with one field goal. The Jets reached the red zone three times and recorded one touchdown and one field goal. New York also converted one of its two fourth-down attempts.

For Miami, the result mattered beyond the narrow statistical edges and the individual performances. The Dolphins arrived in East Rutherford carrying three consecutive losses and left with a 27-24 victory that ended the skid.
