Arlington, TX - Javonte Williams carried 26 times for a game-high 150 yards and a touchdown as the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Arizona Cardinals 29-23 in Week 8. Dallas paired its productive ground game with three red-zone touchdowns, while its defense finished with four sacks and two interceptions.

With 3:53 remaining in the fourth quarter, Brandon Aubrey made a 38-yard field goal for Dallas. The Cowboys finished the afternoon with 354 offensive yards, including 175 on the ground, and improved to 3-5 with the six-point victory.

Williams accounted for most of that rushing production, consistently carrying the workload in a game in which no other player reached 80 yards on the ground. His longest run covered 16 yards, and Dallas added 26 rushing yards from Malik Davis. Arizona finished with 82 rushing yards, 78 of them coming from Jeremiyah Love on 14 attempts.

"When you get that many opportunities, you have to be dependable," Williams said. "I wanted to keep giving us productive carries and make the workload count. Finishing the day with a win is the part that matters to me."

Dallas also held a clear advantage in first downs, finishing with 21 compared with Arizona's 13. Neither team was especially efficient on third down-the Cowboys converted 4 of 14 attempts and the Cardinals went 1-for-10-but Dallas converted three of its four fourth-down tries. Arizona was unsuccessful on all three of its fourth-down attempts.

The difference was also apparent inside the 20. Dallas produced three touchdowns and a field goal across four red-zone trips. Arizona reached the red zone three times, coming away with one touchdown and no field goals.

Dak Prescott completed 23 of 35 passes for 198 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, finishing with an 87.5 passer rating. His touchdown passes went to Jake Ferguson and Davis. Luke Schoonmaker led the Cowboys with 51 receiving yards on four catches, including a 27-yard reception that was Dallas' longest completion.

"There are things we'll want to clean up, especially the interception and some of the third downs," Prescott said. "But when we got inside the 20, we finished those opportunities. In a game decided by six points, you appreciate every chance to put points on the board."

Arizona generated more individual passing production behind Jacoby Brissett, who threw for a game-high 258 yards. Brissett completed 17 of 28 passes with three touchdowns, two interceptions and a 97.0 passer rating. His longest completion covered 59 yards.

Trey McBride led all receivers with 74 yards, while Elijah Higgins caught one pass for 59 yards and a touchdown. Marvin Harrison Jr and Kendrick Bourne also recorded touchdown receptions for the Cardinals. Arizona finished with 312 offensive yards, including 230 passing yards.

"The touchdowns don't erase the turnovers," Brissett said. "I have to be better with the football, and as an offense we can't be satisfied with 1-for-10 on third down or not converting on fourth down. We moved it through the air, but the result is what we have to own."

The Cowboys recorded four sacks to Arizona's two and intercepted two passes while surrendering one interception. That defensive production accompanied a 42-yard advantage in offensive yardage and a 93-yard edge on the ground. Dallas improved from 2-5 to 3-5, while Arizona also moved to 3-5 after entering the game with a 3-4 record.
