EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The New York Giants defense had no answer for Eagles’ half back LeSean McCoy who had another outstanding game with 168 rushing yards. McCoy fuelled the Eagles offence on their way to a blowout victory versus the Giants. The win puts the Eagles in sole possession of first place in the NFC east.
It was over when:
With less than 5 minutes in the games the Giants, who trailed the Eagles by 24-14, punted the ball which forced the Eagles to start their drive from their own 20 yard line. The Eagles began the drive by giving the ball to McCoy who picked up 5 yards on his 12th carry of the game and gave him 100 rushing yards, two play later Eagles quarterback Nick Foles would find wide receiver Julian Edelman open for an 18 yard gain. Three plays after that McCoy on 3rd and 1 ran right for an 18 yard gain on his 14th carry of the game, the Giants looked winded and their head coach Jeff Jarin was scratching his head on the sidelines trying to figure out how to stop the Eagles. Coach Jarin ran out of time to figure that out as Nick Foles snapped the ball from the Giants own 7 yard line and pitched it left to McCoy who ran it in for his 3rd touchdown of the game giving the Eagles 31-14 lead that proved to be more than enough on this night.
