Philadelphia, PA — The New York Giants desperately needed a win on the road this week. But, whatever desperation they had must have stayed back in New York because they played with zero urgency and an no effort in their biggest loss of the season. The Philadelphia Eagles on the other hand put up an impressive performance on both sides of the ball.
Eli Manning threw three interceptions, completed just 14 of 33 passes and had a season low quarterback rating of 32.8. “If you want to know what was wrong with him, you ask him.” said Giants head coach Jeff Jarin “This loss falls on all of us. From the coaches to the players, none of us did enough to put forth an effort that could help us win.”
The loss puts the Giants in a deep hole to make the playoffs, in the last three seasons teams that start the season 0-3 have not made the playoffs. The Giants schedule won’t be getting any easier as they will remain on the road next week to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
With the win the Eagles remain tied with the Dallas Cowboys for first place and will be headed out on the road next week to take on the Los Angeles Chargers.
