LOS ANGELES, CA — The Dallas Cowboys kept their undefeated season alive with a hard-fought 24-21 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on the road. In a game that saw multiple lead changes, the Cowboys outlasted the Chargers with a late field goal to improve to 5-0, while Los Angeles drops to 2-3. Quarterback Dak Prescott led the way with 285 passing yards and a touchdown, while the Dallas defense held strong in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

Game Recap

Both teams remained scoreless through the first quarter before the offenses came alive in the second. Dallas struck first with a one-yard touchdown pass from Prescott to Danny Dansby. The Chargers responded immediately with a 67-yard touchdown reception by J.K. Dobbins from Justin Herbert. After a Brandon Aubrey field goal, the Chargers closed the half with a six-yard touchdown pass to Joshua Palmer, making it 14-10 in favor of Los Angeles.


Dallas narrowed the gap in the third quarter with a 43-yard field goal from Aubrey, but the Chargers struck again with a 58-yard touchdown bomb from Herbert to Ladd McConkey, giving Los Angeles a 21-13 lead heading into the final quarter.

The Cowboys mounted a comeback in the fourth. Aaron Jones powered into the end zone on a two-yard touchdown run, followed by a successful two-point conversion from Jake Ferguson, tying the game at 21. With under a minute left, Aubrey delivered the game-winning 42-yard field goal, securing the 24-21 victory.

Key Stats

Prescott completed 29 of 40 passes for 285 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions. Jones played a key role, rushing for 96 yards and a touchdown while also adding 105 receiving yards. Dansby contributed seven catches for 63 yards and a score.

Herbert had a strong outing, going 13-for-21 with 279 passing yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. McConkey led all Chargers receivers with four catches for 106 yards and a touchdown, while Dobbins had 70 receiving yards and a score. Los Angeles’ defense forced just one sack, failing to slow down Prescott in key moments.
