Glendale, AZ - Jacoby Brissett threw for 414 yards and three touchdowns, and Michael Wilson delivered a game-high 238 receiving yards as the Arizona Cardinals defeated the Denver Broncos 38-24 in Week 7.
Arizona created separation during a game filled with passing production and carried its advantage through the finish. Denver generated plenty of offense and continued to apply pressure, but the Cardinals repeatedly matched that production while finishing with 479 offensive yards.
Brissett completed 24 of 30 passes and posted a 152.0 passer rating. His longest completion covered 91 yards, the longest completion of the game, and Wilson was on the receiving end of a game-long 91-yard catch. Wilson finished with nine receptions and two touchdowns in the most productive receiving performance on either side.
"We stayed aggressive and gave our guys chances to work," Brissett said. "There were a lot of yards out there, but the best part was finishing with points and coming away with the win."
The Cardinals did not lean on only one target. Marvin Harrison Jr caught five passes for 75 yards and a touchdown, while Trey McBride added seven receptions for 68 yards. Wilson supplied the largest gains, giving Arizona a downfield element that complemented Brissett's accuracy throughout the game.
Arizona's rushing production was more limited, with 65 yards as a team, but it still received contributions from multiple backs. Jeremiyah Love carried 10 times for a team-high 40 yards, including a game-long 25-yard run. Tyler Allgeier added 22 yards on five attempts and scored a rushing touchdown.
The contrast between volume and efficiency defined much of the afternoon. Denver recorded 23 first downs to Arizona's 17, yet the Cardinals finished with 30 more offensive yards. Arizona converted seven of 10 third downs, while the Broncos went 7-for-14. The Cardinals reached the red zone three times and scored two touchdowns there; Denver produced three touchdowns and one field goal across five red-zone trips.
Bo Nix kept Denver moving with 359 passing yards and three touchdowns. He completed 31 of 48 attempts and finished with a 99.2 passer rating, though Arizona intercepted him once. The Broncos accumulated 449 offensive yards, including 90 on the ground, as they worked to reduce Arizona's margin.
Troy Franklin caught eight passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns, while Evan Engram added seven receptions for 68 yards and a score. Courtland Sutton led Denver with 124 receiving yards on six catches, including a 30-yard reception.
"We moved the ball, but we didn't get the result we needed," Nix said. "When you get inside the 20 that many times, you want to finish more of those opportunities. There are good things in the production, but the score is what stays with you."
Alvin Kamara supplied Denver's strongest rushing performance, recording a game-high 69 yards on a game-leading 14 carries. His longest run covered 20 yards, and the Broncos finished with 25 more rushing yards than Arizona.
Neither defense consistently suppressed the passing game, but Arizona finished with three sacks and the game's only interception. Denver recorded two sacks and did not intercept Brissett. The Cardinals maintained enough distance during the later stages to avoid a one-score finish and secure the 14-point victory.
For Wilson, the result carried more weight than his career-sized box-score presence within this game.
"The opportunities kept coming, and I wanted to make something out of every one of them," Wilson said. "We had different guys contributing, so the defense couldn't focus on just one area. Putting up those numbers feels a lot better when it ends with a win."
Arizona entered the game at 2-4 and coming off a loss, while Denver arrived at 3-3 after also losing its previous game. The Cardinals emerged with the response they needed, scoring 38 points and earning their third victory.
