Bijan Robinson runs for 293 yards and 3 TDs as Atlanta Falcons beat Green Bay Packers 38-35 in Week 3

Green Bay, WI - Bijan Robinson turned 23 carries into 293 yards and three touchdowns, giving the Atlanta Falcons a remarkable rushing centerpiece in their 38-35 Week 3 victory over the Green Bay Packers.

The teams finished only 10 yards apart in offensive production, but they reached those totals through sharply different methods. Atlanta amassed 440 offensive yards, including 299 on the ground, while Green Bay produced 430 offensive yards with 364 coming through the team passing category. The Falcons averaged nearly 13 yards per rushing attempt, with Robinson responsible for all but six of their yards on the ground.

Robinson’s longest run covered 58 yards. He also contributed as a receiver, catching two passes for 41 yards with a long reception of 37 yards. Between rushing and receiving, the Atlanta back finished with 334 yards from scrimmage.

"When you’re getting that many opportunities, every one has to have purpose," Robinson said. "I wanted to stay decisive and finish every run. To come away with the win after putting that much into the game means a lot."

Anthony Richardson Sr completed 13 of 20 passes for 141 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, finishing with a 62.7 passer rating. Atlanta did not need a high-volume passing performance, but Richardson connected with Kyle Pitts Sr three times for 48 yards and a touchdown. Pitts’ 38-yard reception was the Falcons’ longest completion.

Richardson also rushed five times for six yards. His two interceptions represented Atlanta’s primary blemish in the turnover column, and the quarterback did not minimize them afterward.

"We can enjoy the result and still be honest about what needs to be cleaner," Richardson said. "The two interceptions are on me. The running production was outstanding, and I have to keep working so the entire offense is as sharp as it can be."

Green Bay’s offense followed a dramatically different statistical path. Jordan Love went 31 of 42 for 388 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, recording a 108.0 passer rating. His longest completion went for 80 yards, part of a productive day for a receiving group that placed two players above 100 yards.

Matthew Golden caught nine passes for 142 yards and a touchdown, including the 80-yard reception. Tucker Kraft added seven catches for 116 yards and a score, with a long gain of 55 yards. Christian Watson contributed six receptions for 88 yards, giving Love three targets with at least 88 receiving yards.

"There was a lot of production in the passing game, but the result is what stays with you," Love said. "When you throw for that many yards and lose by three, it’s frustrating. We have good things to build from, but the interception is something I have to own."

The Packers were held to 66 rushing yards as a team. Josh Jacobs accounted for 60 of those yards on 11 carries and scored a touchdown, while Watson added a four-yard touchdown run on his only rushing attempt. In contrast to Robinson’s 23-carry workload, no Green Bay player recorded more than 11 rushing attempts.

Several of the broader efficiency numbers were even. Both teams converted exactly half of their third downs, with Atlanta going 4-for-8 and Green Bay finishing 5-for-10. Each offense also converted its only fourth-down attempt. Green Bay recorded 22 first downs to Atlanta’s 19, another example of how little separated the teams in the overall offensive totals despite their contrasting approaches.

The defensive production was similarly split across different categories. Atlanta registered three sacks and one interception, with Divine Deablo recording the pick. DeMarcco Hellams forced a fumble. Green Bay did not record a sack but intercepted Richardson twice.

Atlanta’s 38 points and 440 offensive yards were paired with one of the most productive individual rushing performances of the week. Green Bay finished with more first downs and substantially more passing production, but the Falcons left Green Bay with the three-point victory and Robinson’s 293-yard, three-touchdown performance at the center of the final statistical picture.
