SANTA CLARA, CA — The San Francisco 49ers continued their impressive run, securing their fourth consecutive victory with a 20-17 win over the visiting Indianapolis Colts. The Colts, who entered the game 1-2, showed resilience but ultimately couldn’t pull off the upset against the red-hot 3-0 49ers.

Game Recap

The 49ers struck first as Christian McCaffrey powered in a one-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter, though Jake Moody missed the extra point.

Indianapolis responded in the second quarter with a 33-yard field goal from Matt Gay, cutting the deficit to 6-3 at halftime.

The second half saw both offenses come to life. Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson broke free for a 30-yard rushing touchdown early in the third quarter, giving Indianapolis its first lead of the game at 10-6. However, the 49ers answered back quickly, as Brock Purdy found McCaffrey on a five-yard touchdown pass, putting San Francisco back on top 13-10.

The Colts made another big play early in the fourth quarter, as Jonathan Taylor broke loose for a stunning 89-yard touchdown run, momentarily giving Indianapolis a 17-13 lead. But McCaffrey continued his dominant performance, capping off a strong drive with a two-yard rushing touchdown to seal the 49ers’ 20-17 victory.
