CLEVELAND, OH - The San Francisco 49ers closed out their Week 13 matchup in businesslike fashion, pulling away from the Cleveland Browns for a 31-13 road win and heading into their bye week with momentum firmly on their side.
San Francisco leaned on efficiency, balance, and timely scoring, breaking open a tight game with a strong fourth-quarter push after controlling the tempo throughout the afternoon.
Early Response Sets the Tone
Cleveland struck first with a 31-yard field goal midway through the opening quarter, but the 49ers answered quickly. Skyy Moore capped San Francisco's first touchdown drive with a 9-yard rushing score, giving the visitors a 7-3 lead late in the quarter.
The 49ers continued to apply pressure in the second quarter. A 43-yard field goal extended the lead before Brock Purdy connected with Moore again, this time on a 27-yard touchdown pass to make it 17-3. Cleveland briefly cut into the deficit just before halftime when Joe Flacco found Gabe Davis for a 24-yard score, but San Francisco still carried a 17-10 advantage into the break.
Defense Controls the Middle Quarters
Both defenses tightened up after halftime, with neither team reaching the end zone in the third quarter. The Browns managed a field goal to pull within four, but San Francisco consistently won the field-position battle and limited Cleveland's opportunities to sustain drives.
Fourth-Quarter Push Seals It
Any lingering doubt disappeared early in the fourth. After Cleveland added another field goal, the 49ers responded decisively. Brian Robinson Jr. powered in a 10-yard rushing touchdown to restore a comfortable margin, and Skyy Moore put the finishing touches on the afternoon with a 2-yard rushing score, his second touchdown of the game.
From there, San Francisco's defense closed the door, preserving the 31-13 win.
Up Next
The 49ers now head into their bye week looking refreshed and in rhythm as the playoff race tightens. Cleveland will look to regroup as they take on the visiting Tennessee Titans next week.
