PITTSBURGH, PA - In a highly anticipated Monday Night Football showdown played under falling snow, the Pittsburgh Steelers delivered a commanding performance, pulling away from the Miami Dolphins for a 36-14 win at Acrisure Stadium in Week 15.
Both teams entered the night at 11-2, but in frigid, wintry conditions, it was Mike Tomlin's Steelers who controlled the tempo from the opening quarter, using a physical ground attack and timely defensive plays to seize control early and never look back.
Steelers Strike Early After Defensive Takeaway
Pittsburgh wasted no time establishing momentum in the snow. After opening the game with a field goal, the Steelers quickly found the end zone following a pivotal turnover. A Jalen Ramsey interception set the Steelers up deep in Miami territory at the 12-yard line, and the offense capitalized moments later with a short touchdown run to extend the lead.
The Steelers weren't finished. Another long touchdown run late in the first quarter - with snow continuing to fall - stretched the advantage to 17-0, putting Miami on its heels before the Dolphins offense could find any rhythm.
Dolphins Answer, Steelers Respond
Miami finally broke through in the third quarter behind De'Von Achane, who ripped off a 51-yard touchdown run before adding a second short rushing score later in the period. The Dolphins briefly cut the deficit to 20-14, injecting life into the primetime matchup.
Any hopes of a comeback were quickly erased. Pittsburgh responded with a perfectly timed deep strike, as D.K. Metcalf hauled in an 80-yard touchdown reception from Aaron Rodgers early in the fourth quarter, flipping the momentum back decisively in the Steelers' favor.
Physical Finish Seals the Statement Win
As conditions worsened late in the game, Pittsburgh leaned even further into its physical identity, grinding out yards on the ground and closing the door in the snow. Chris Boswell added another field goal, and Jaylen Warren capped the night with a late touchdown run to punctuate a dominant performance.
Pittsburgh finished with 227 rushing yards, controlling the line of scrimmage and limiting Miami to just one red-zone touchdown on the night. Defensively, the Steelers forced multiple turnovers and consistently pressured the Dolphins' offense, never allowing Miami to fully settle in.
Up Next
The Dolphins will return home in Week 16, where they'll host the Cincinnati Bengals as they look to rebound and regain momentum in the AFC race.
The Steelers will hit the road next week for a marquee matchup in Michigan, taking on the Detroit Lions as they continue to jockey for positioning atop the AFC standings.
