PITTSBURGH, PA - After 16 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, wide receiver DK Metcalf is moving on - and he's heading to one of the most storied franchises in the 2K Online Franchise: the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Seahawks traded Metcalf to Pittsburgh in exchange for a second-round pick (No. 52 overall) and a late-round swap. It's a franchise-shifting move that sends a two-time Pro Bowl receiver to the AFC North, where he'll now look to rewrite the final chapter of his already decorated career.

"I just want to thank the Rooney family, Mr. Omar, and Coach Tomlin for giving me this opportunity," Metcalf said during his introductory press conference. "It felt like home from the first phone call."

A New Home, a New Identity

Metcalf's legacy in Seattle is undeniable. Over 16 seasons, he was the engine of their passing attack, known for his physical style, freakish athleticism, and unmatched consistency. He totaled over 1,100 receiving yards in Season 32 alone, catching 64 passes with 6 touchdowns and just one drop on 65 targets.

But despite his individual dominance, postseason success eluded him. The Seahawks went just 2-4 in the playoffs during Metcalf's time there, never reaching the conference title game.

Now, in Pittsburgh, he's betting on a different result.

"They made me feel welcome right away. Coach Tomlin has always shown me respect - ever since the 2019 Combine. To hear his voice again and feel that same energy six years later… it just felt right."

Built for the AFC North

When asked about joining one of the league's most physical divisions, Metcalf didn't flinch.

"That's my kind of football," he said. "I was raised to play physical - my pops was an offensive lineman. That mentality's in me. I'm not going to take this opportunity for granted."

Metcalf already signed an extension with the Steelers, showing his full commitment to the team's future. He noted that he wasn't involved in choosing who would be throwing him the football, but had full trust in the organization's direction.

"They made me feel confident that they were making the right decisions at quarterback," Metcalf said. "Whoever it is, I'm going to do my job and help them shine."

Expectations High, But the Mindset Is Grounded

Metcalf isn't fazed by the pressure.

"Expectations are just unneeded pressure. I'm going to show up, be myself, and let the chips fall where they may."

He also expressed enthusiasm about mentoring and learning from fellow receiver George Pickens, saying:

"Football is the ultimate team game. We all want the ball. But I've played with great receivers before. I know when to lead, and I know when to learn."

Full Circle

From a 2019 Combine meeting with Tomlin to a 2025 offseason trade, DK Metcalf's football journey has come full circle - and it now runs through Pittsburgh.

"I found a new home. I found a new fiancée. And I'm just excited to keep building something special here."
