EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The Oakland Raiders won thanks to a 37 yard field goal by Sebastian Janikowski, but it was the play that set up the kick that left the sold out crowd at MetLife stadium stunned on this night.
Trailing by 7 with 1:34 left in the game, on 4th and 12, Eli Manning tried to throw a pass deep up the field but was incomplete. Things looked bleak for the Giants, as the Raiders took over the ball at their own 44 yard line. On first down the Raiders tried to run the ball but were stopped behind the line for a 4 yard loss, Giants used their first time out which stopped the clock with 1:24 left. Next play the Raiders ran a screen pass, which earlier in the game led to their one and only touchdown, the screen picked up 7 yards for them and forced the Giants to use their second time out with 1:18 left. 3rd and 8 now, Raiders QB Tyler Wilson out of the shot gun threw a pass to his right that was intercepted by Giants’ LOLB Aaron Curry. Curry ran the ball back the other way and looked to be heading for the end zone, but Tyler Wilson caught up to him and took him down at the 18 yard line.
