Oakland, California – The Oakland Raiders are turning heads as they remain undefeated in the preseason following a close game with the visiting Chicago Bears.
Oakland Raiders’ quarterback Terrelle Pryor put on an impressive show, as he completed 7 of 9 throws, threw the only touchdown of the game and finished the night with 103 yards passing. Coach Max Farias was pleased to see his young quarterback play well and had this to say during his post game press conference “It was good to see him go out there and make the most of his opportunity, specially right now when we’re at the halfway point of the preseason and everyone is trying to get a spot on this team. I expect him to keep playing well and compete hard for a starting role.”
For the Bears it was a frustrating loss, as they were unable to move the ball at all threw the air. Bears starting quarter back Jay Cutler threw for just 12 yards and completed only 1 of 4 throws. Backup quarterback Matt Blanchard didn’t do much either, he completed 6 of 12 passes, had zero touchdowns, zero interceptions and a total of 36 yards passing. The one bright spot of the night for the Bears was running back Michael Bush. Although he didn’t get into the end zone, he had 102 yards rushing on 14 attempts and had the game’s longest run when he broke away for a 16 yard run.
The Bears drop to 1-2 in the preseason while the Raiders remain undefeated at 3-0. Next week the Raiders finish the preseason with a trip to Seattle as they take on the Seahawks and the Bears last game will be at home versus the Cleveland Browns.
