Tampa Bay, FL — The Los Angeles Chargers have started the first month of the season with a 4-0 record after beating Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their home turf, 31-7! Keys to their success have come from all around the team, from rookie QB Justin Herbert to now the number one back Austin Ekeler‘s elusiveness on the field. Chargers end the month with 142.3 rushing YPG from Ekeler running behind free agency acquisitions Bryan Bulaga and Trai Turner blocking.
Herbert’s success on the field having almost 900 passing yards in 4 games and 10 TD’s with his rookie teammate WR Joe Reed having a breakout month with 280 receiving yards in 19 receptions with 5 touchdowns!
On the other side of the ball, the Chargers defense has racked up 15 sacks and 9 interceptions throughout the first month of the season putting them in the top 10 of total defense around the league.
