Glendale, AZ - Jalen Hurts threw for 324 yards, Philadelphia generated 452 offensive yards and the Eagles held off an Arizona push for a 29-23 victory over the Cardinals in Week 13.
Philadelphia built an advantage and spent the closing stages protecting it as Arizona narrowed the margin. The Cardinals never let the game get out of reach, but the Eagles consistently generated more offense, finishing with 20 first downs to Arizona's 14 and holding a 144-yard advantage in offensive production.
Hurts completed 28 of 48 passes with one touchdown and no interceptions, earning an 85.7 passer rating. He spread the ball across a deep group of targets, with three Philadelphia receivers finishing above 70 yards. Makai Lemon led all players with 85 receiving yards on seven catches, DeVonta Smith caught six passes for 83 yards and a touchdown, and Dallas Goedert added five receptions for 72 yards.
That distribution gave Philadelphia several ways to move the ball as the game developed. The Eagles did not create a runaway margin, but they maintained enough separation to withstand Arizona's attempts to close the gap.
"We had a lot of guys involved, and that matters in a game where you have to keep answering pressure," Hurts said. "There are things we can clean up, especially finishing opportunities, but we stayed aggressive and came out with the result."
The Eagles complemented their passing production with 128 rushing yards. Saquon Barkley handled a game-high 14 carries and finished with 69 yards, while Trey Benson provided 56 yards on six attempts and scored a rushing touchdown. Benson also produced the game's longest run, a 31-yard gain.
Philadelphia's overall yardage advantage was substantial, though its situational numbers left room for Arizona to remain competitive. The Eagles converted 6 of 16 third downs and 1 of 2 fourth downs. On three trips inside the Arizona 20, Philadelphia recorded one touchdown and one field goal.
Smith's touchdown highlighted another productive performance within a balanced receiving group. His six catches included a long of 21 yards, and he was one of three Eagles with at least five receptions.
"There were opportunities across the offense, and the ball could go to anybody," Smith said. "When your number comes up, you have to be ready. We moved it well, but we know there were still chances to finish more of those possessions."
Arizona countered with 308 offensive yards, including 231 through the air. Jaxson Dart completed 21 of 36 passes for one touchdown and one interception, finishing with a 75.1 rating. He also rushed three times for 23 yards and scored on the ground.
Michael Wilson caught three passes for 47 yards and Arizona's receiving touchdown. Trey McBride supplied a team-high 61 receiving yards on five catches, including a 27-yard reception that stood as both the game's longest catch and longest completion.
The Cardinals gradually reduced Philadelphia's cushion, but their offense finished 2 of 12 on third down. Like the Eagles, Arizona made three red-zone trips and came away with one touchdown and one field goal. The parallel red-zone numbers kept the scoring margin narrow even as Philadelphia accumulated more first downs and offensive yards.
"We were able to make it competitive, but there were too many possessions where we didn't stay on the field," Dart said. "Against a team that can move the ball like that, you want more chances. I also have to be better with the football."
Philadelphia's defense recorded four sacks and the game's only interception. Cooper DeJean picked off Dart and returned the ball 20 yards. Jonathan Greenard and Jalen Carter each registered a sack as part of the Eagles' four-sack afternoon.
Arizona recorded two sacks but did not intercept Hurts. The Cardinals entered the game on a two-game winning streak, while Philadelphia arrived at 7-4 and followed its previous victory with another one. The final margin was only six points, but the Eagles left Glendale having outgained Arizona through both the air and on the ground.
