Tony Romo’s mistakes prove costly for the Cowboys

It was the opening game for both the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys came into the game looking to get payback for last season’s overtime playoff loss to the Giants. For the Giants this was a game where they wanted to a statement and prove to everyone else that last years improbable run was no luck. It was the latter of the two on this night that prove to be true.

Late in the 3rd quarter the Cowboys trailed the Giants 24-7 and needed to get a stop on defense, unfortunately for them that key stop didn’t happen. With 2:42 left in the 3rd quarter the Giants were in the red zone and on 2nd and 1 from the 2 yard line Eli Manning handed the ball to his half back Henry Hynoski who took it in for another Giants’ touchdown. The touchdown put the Giants up 31-7 which would prove to be to big of a lead for the Cowboys to overcome.
