DETROIT, MI - After two full decades anchoring the offensive line in the 2K Online Franchise league, Frank Ragnow has announced his retirement, ending a storied 20-season career spent entirely with the Detroit Lions. Drafted during the Madden 19 era, Ragnow began his journey in Season 13 as a left guard before transitioning to center-a move that would define his legacy.

Ragnow, now 29, cited lingering injuries and the physical toll of the game as reasons for walking away.

"I've been through a lot. Surgeries, setbacks, constant rehab. I've always wanted to go out on my terms-and now's the time."

That time comes after an unprecedented 20 straight seasons with the same franchise-an ultra-rare feat in the league. Ragnow was the heart and soul of Detroit's offensive line through five coaching changes, multiple playoff runs, and rebuilds. He remained one of the game's most consistent and respected centers, earning Pro Bowl nods and All‑Pro selections in both the virtual and real-world leagues.

By the time Season 32 ended, Ragnow had logged more seasons in Detroit than any other player in franchise history. He snapped for a dozen different quarterbacks, protected two 1,000-yard rushers, and didn't allow a single sack in three separate seasons.

Former teammates and coaches reflected on his impact.

"Rags was the tone-setter," said longtime Lions coach Josh McDaniels. "He wasn't the loudest guy in the room, but if you followed him, you were doing things the right way."

In typical Ragnow fashion, there was no press conference-just a heartfelt message to the team and fans. The Lions, meanwhile, now face the challenge of replacing a leader whose presence extended far beyond the trenches. Early signs point to Graham Glasgow stepping in as a short-term option while the front office explores long-term replacements.

I have given this team everything I have and I thought I had more to give, but the reality is I simply don't. I have to listen to my body and this has been one of the hardest decisions of my life.
