INGLEWOOD, CA - The Los Angeles Chargers looked refreshed coming out of their bye week and used a strong second-half push to pull away from the Las Vegas Raiders, earning a 28-13 win Sunday at SoFi Stadium.

The Raiders entered the matchup at 4-7 looking to gain traction late in the season, while the Chargers came in at 3-8 and eager to reset after the week off. For much of the afternoon, the game stayed tight, but Los Angeles delivered the decisive plays in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Early blows traded

Las Vegas struck first midway through the opening quarter. Quarterback Jalen Milroe capped the Raiders' opening momentum with a 4-yard touchdown pass to Jakobi Meyers, giving the visitors an early 7-0 lead.

"We started the way we wanted to," Meyers said. "We moved the ball, finished the drive, and set the tone early."

The Chargers answered late in the quarter, leaning on their power run game. Najee Harris punched in a 1-yard touchdown run with just nine seconds remaining, and Cameron Dicker's extra point tied the game at 7-7.

"That was big for us," Harris said. "We didn't want to let that first score snowball. We answered and stayed composed."

Chargers edge ahead before halftime

The second quarter featured a back-and-forth battle. Daniel Carlson drilled a 28-yard field goal to put the Raiders back in front, but Los Angeles responded with another physical drive. Omarion Hampton finished it with a 4-yard touchdown run, restoring the Chargers' lead at 14-10 heading into halftime.

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh liked the tone his team established. "We were patient," Harbaugh said. "We stayed committed to the run and trusted the process. That's the kind of football we want to play."

Raiders hang around after the break

Las Vegas kept the game within reach coming out of halftime. As the third quarter expired, Carlson connected on a 35-yard field goal, trimming the deficit to just one point and keeping pressure on the Chargers heading into the final period.

"We gave ourselves a chance," Raiders head coach Max Farias said. "At that point, it's about execution in the moments that matter most."

Fourth-quarter surge seals it

Those moments belonged to Los Angeles.

Early in the fourth quarter, Harris struck again, powering through traffic for a 10-yard touchdown run that gave the Chargers some breathing room. Just minutes later, Justin Herbert delivered the knockout blow, launching a 52-yard touchdown pass to Quentin Johnston that electrified the crowd and put the game out of reach.

"That's what we've been building toward," Herbert said. "When we get the look, you've got to take it. Quentin made a great play."

Johnston's score pushed the Chargers ahead 28-13, and the defense took care of the rest, shutting down any late Raiders comeback attempt.

"We finished," Harbaugh said. "That's been a point of emphasis all year - playing four quarters. Today, we did that."

What it means

For the Chargers, the win provides momentum after the bye and reinforces their identity as a team that can control games on the ground while striking deep when opportunities arise.

For the Raiders, it was another frustrating loss defined by missed chances. Despite a solid opening drive and staying within striking distance through three quarters, Las Vegas couldn't match Los Angeles' execution late.

"We've got to close," Farias said. "That's the difference. We're close, but close doesn't count in this league."

Up Next

The Chargers remain at SoFi Stadium in Week 14, where they will host the Philadelphia Eagles as they look to build on their post-bye momentum. The Raiders head back home in Week 14 for a divisional matchup against the Denver Broncos, a critical game as Las Vegas tries to steady its season and stay competitive down the stretch.
