How they got here:
Gerardo “Lalo” Contreras has been a great young leader for his team, and he’s a big reason the Bears are headed to the playoffs. Through the first 9 games of the season the Bears looked like a team that would miss the playoffs for the second straight year, going 3-5. Then to everyone’s suprise the Bears began to turn things around with a win against the Vikings, that win seemed to give them the confidence they needed. The Bears went 6-2 the rest of the way to finish the season with record of 9-7, second in the NFC North and good enough for the last wild card spot.
The Redskins won the NFC East for the second straight year with a record of 12-4 and locked in the 3rd seed thanks to their two wins over the Dallas Cowboys.
