Green Bay, WI - The Buffalo Bills extended their winning streak to four games and stopped one of their own, intercepting Jordan Love five times in a 36-14 victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 14.
Buffalo arrived with a 4-8 record but continued its turnaround by handing Green Bay its first loss in five games. The Packers had entered the matchup at 8-4 on a four-game winning streak, only for the Bills to produce their most important numbers on defense.
The yardage totals were close. Buffalo finished with 285 offensive yards, while Green Bay had 268. Both teams recorded 16 first downs. The turnover figures were anything but even: The Bills collected five interceptions, and the Packers came away with one.
Josh Allen delivered a sharp performance around Buffalo's lone giveaway. He completed 21 of 28 passes for a game-high 235 yards, threw two touchdowns and finished with a 108.4 passer rating. His longest completion went for 27 yards, also the longest completion of the game.
"Any time your defense comes away with five interceptions, you appreciate what that means," Allen said. "I liked our efficiency in the passing game, but I still had the one turnover. There are always things we can clean up, especially when we get that many opportunities inside the 20."
Allen distributed his production across a Buffalo offense that finished with 210 team passing yards and 75 rushing yards. Dalton Kincaid led the Bills with 72 receiving yards on five catches and scored one of the team's two receiving touchdowns. Dawson Knox had the other, scoring on his lone 2-yard reception.
James Cook III handled a game-high 20 rushing attempts, gaining a game-high 52 yards with a long of 15. His larger contribution came from combining that workload with five receptions for 51 yards. Cook's 27-yard catch was the longest reception by any player in the game.
"We had different guys contributing, and that makes the offense harder to deal with," Kincaid said. "When my chances came, I wanted to be reliable. We had six red-zone trips, so we know there was still more production available to us."
Buffalo scored two touchdowns and kicked two field goals across those six red-zone possessions. Green Bay reached the red zone three times and scored touchdowns on two of those trips. The Bills also converted both of their fourth-down attempts, while the Packers finished 2-for-3.
Third down created a sharper efficiency gap. Buffalo went 5-for-13, compared with Green Bay's 1-for-8 showing. The Packers recorded three sacks against Allen, and Buffalo finished with one sack of Love.
Love completed 23 of 36 passes for 234 yards and one touchdown, but the five interceptions pulled his passer rating down to 52.0. His longest completion covered 22 yards. Green Bay finished with 227 passing yards but managed only 41 yards on the ground.
"Five interceptions is not acceptable," Love said. "We moved the ball enough to create some opportunities, but I have to be much better with the football. Completing passes and gaining yards doesn't mean much when the result looks like that."
Matthew Golden provided a game-high 79 receiving yards for the Packers. Tucker Kraft caught five passes for 44 yards and a touchdown. Josh Jacobs scored Green Bay's rushing touchdown but was held to 28 yards on 10 carries as the Packers finished 34 rushing yards behind Buffalo.
Green Bay's passing total nearly matched Buffalo's, and the teams were even in first downs, but the final margin reflected a game in which the Packers repeatedly surrendered possession. The Bills paired their five interceptions with Allen's two touchdown passes and four scoring results from six red-zone trips.
For Buffalo, the victory continued a surge that has changed the tone of its season over the past four games. For Green Bay, the 22-point defeat brought a four-game winning streak to an abrupt end.
