Oakland, CA — Raiders re-sign right outside linebacker Aldon Smith to a four-year contract valued at $33 million. Despite Aldon missing the entire 2K season with what Raider officials have called a “compound foot fracture,” the Raiders have dedicated themselves to the 27-year-old for the next four years.
The question remains if the Raiders will get Aldon Smith the defensive playmaker from the past or the injury prone player he currently is. “With the confidence that coach Max Farias, my teammates and the organization has given throughout this long recovery, my rehab has been coming along and I cannot wait to get back on the field with my brothers and go and help them win. I expect myself to be in top shape and ready to be an impact.” Aldon’s contract allows him to earn his $5.83 million this year, $6.04 million in 2018, $7.25 million in 2019, $8.82 million in 2020 and $10.9 million in 2021.
