SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The San Francisco 49ers improved to 5-0 with a dominant 21-3 win over the Arizona Cardinals at Levi’s Stadium. The Cardinals, now 2-3, struggled to generate offense against a stifling 49ers defense that held them to just three points. Christian McCaffrey led the way with two rushing touchdowns, while Brock Purdy added a score on the ground.

Game Recap

San Francisco took control early, as McCaffrey broke loose for a 63-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to put the 49ers ahead 7-0. The Cardinals responded in the second quarter with a Wil Lutz 26-yard field goal, but that would be their only points of the game.

After a scoreless third quarter, the 49ers pulled away in the fourth. Purdy capped off a strong drive with a 3-yard rushing touchdown to extend the lead to 14-3. Later in the quarter, McCaffrey found the end zone again, this time on a 16-yard run, sealing the 49ers’ fifth straight win.

Arizona’s offense struggled to find consistency, as Kyler Murray completed just 12 of 25 passes for 103 yards. He was more effective on the ground, rushing for 104 yards on nine carries, but the lack of passing production prevented the Cardinals from staying competitive. The 49ers’ defense was relentless, forcing an interception, recording four passes defended, and limiting the Cardinals to just 246 total yards.
