HOUSTON, TX — In a clash of AFC South rivals, the Houston Texans stormed past the Indianapolis Colts, securing a dominant 45-17 victory at NRG Stadium. With an impressive showing on both sides of the ball, the Texans moved to 2-0 on the season and showcased why they are serious contenders in the division.

Game Recap

The Colts struck first with a 3-yard touchdown run by Jonathan Taylor, but it was all Texans from there. Quarterback C.J. Stroud delivered another stellar performance, throwing for four touchdowns and 344 yards while connecting with wideout Stefon Diggs for three of them. Diggs, the star offseason acquisition, was unstoppable, racking up 119 yards on six receptions. “This is why I came to Houston,” Diggs said. “We’ve got something special brewing here.”

On the ground, running back Joe Mixon powered his way to 111 rushing yards and added a touchdown of his own. “It’s all about balance,” Mixon said. “When we’re clicking in the run and pass game, we’re hard to stop.”

Despite the early score from Taylor, the Colts’ offense sputtered as quarterback Anthony Richardson was sacked four times and intercepted once. “We couldn’t get anything going against their defense,” Colts head coach Shane Steichen admitted. “They played at a different level.”
