Oakland, CA — The Oakland Raiders re-sign cornerback T.J Carrie to a two-year extension worth $8.08 million. This signing will add depth to the Raiders defensive backfield. Carrie has been a dependable veteran who can play both starting corner, nickel and the safety positions. Before the injury to Sean Smith, Carrie was fourth in the depth chart among cornerbacks but he’s filled in quite well when needed.
The third-year veteran from the University of Ohio racked up 25 total tackles(8 during the Raiders playoff run), 1.5 sacks and 6 pass deflections this past season. “I love the time I have spent hear with the Raiders and I appreciate what coach Farias has done for me and what he has allowed me to do. I’ve been fortunate to play an important role when filling in during Sean’s time out. I’ll be looking towards the next few years as a Raider.”
