BALTIMORE, MD — The Las Vegas Raiders fell to the Baltimore Ravens 34-12 in Week 2, as Lamar Jackson and the Ravens capitalized on key moments, while the Raiders couldn’t recover from early mistakes. The game was scoreless after the first quarter, but the Ravens broke through in the second, building a lead they never relinquished.

Justice Hill opened the scoring early in the second quarter with a touchdown reception from Jackson. Five minutes later, Nelson Agholor caught another touchdown from Jackson to extend the lead to 14-0. The Ravens forced a critical turnover when Brandon Stephens picked off Gardner Minshew, but the Raiders responded by intercepting Jackson with a pick by Tre’Von Moehrig. Minshew capitalized with a touchdown to Jakobi Meyers, though Daniel Carlson missed the extra point, leaving the Raiders down 6-14 at the half. A 51-yard Justin Tucker field goal extended the Ravens’ lead to 17-6.

The second half saw the Ravens extend their lead, with Tucker adding another 42-yard field goal in the third quarter. Early in the fourth quarter, Minshew was intercepted in the end zone by Marcus Williams on a critical fourth-and-1 play, stalling a potential Raiders scoring drive. Minshew connected again with Meyers late in the game, but the two-point conversion failed, and the Raiders couldn’t recover.

Key Performers

Lamar Jackson led the way for the Ravens with 187 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. Justice Hill scored his first touchdown of the season, while Nelson Agholor contributed 99 receiving yards, including a game-high 53-yard touchdown. On defense, Malik Harrison, Brandon Stephens, Marlon Humphrey, and Marcus Williams each recorded interceptions that helped swing momentum.

For the Raiders, Gardner Minshew threw for 218 yards and 2 touchdowns, both to Jakobi Meyers, who finished with 114 yards receiving. However, two key interceptions and missed scoring opportunities proved too much to overcome.

Up Next

The Raiders will return home to face the 1-1 Carolina Panthers in Week 3. Meanwhile, the Ravens will hit the road to take on the 1-1 Dallas Cowboys as they aim to keep their momentum going.
