NEW ORLEANS, LA - In a move that blends new energy with a familiar face, the New Orleans Saints have named Kellen Moore as their next head coach. Moore, who most recently served as offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles, now returns to a head coaching role in the 2K Online Franchise league.
A Familiar Face in the League
This isn't Moore's first stint in the league. He previously served as offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, from Season 26 to Season 28. During that time, Moore built a reputation for offensive creativity and quarterback development. He helped Dallas reach three playoff appearances and develop a dynamic offensive identity during that time.
Before coaching, Moore had a brief playing career in the 2K Online Franchise league. He spent two seasons as a backup quarterback with the Cincinnati Bengals from Season 10 to Season 11. In his final season, Moore appeared in 2 games, completing 6 of 9 passes for 47 yards and a 66.7% completion rate.
After stepping away from the field, Moore began his transition into coaching. His return to the sidelines began in Philadelphia, where he quickly climbed the ladder and helped engineer one of the most balanced offenses in the league-though the Eagles have yet to win a Super Bowl in the 2K Online Franchise league. Moore eventually served as offensive coordinator before being hired by New Orleans.
Why the Saints Made the Move
The Saints are coming off a Wild Card loss to the San Francisco 49ers, finishing Season 32 with a 10-4 record under Dennis Allen, who was not retained. New Orleans now turns to Moore to develop a young roster that includes a new quarterback still adjusting to life in the league. Sources inside the Saints front office say Moore's blend of player development experience and aggressive playcalling made him the clear favorite.

Moore inherits a Saints team that has failed to make the playoffs in three of the last four seasons, posting records of 6-11 in Season 29 (2nd in the division), 6-11 in Season 30 (3rd), and 7-10 in Season 31 (2nd), before finally breaking through with a 10-7 campaign in Season 32. Even with that improvement, they finished behind the division-winning Buccaneers (11-6).
With question marks at quarterback and several key decisions looming on offense, Moore's arrival signals a likely shift toward a more aggressive, modern approach.
