PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Eagles dominated from start to finish in a commanding 42-19 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2. Jalen Hurts accounted for 5 total touchdowns—3 through the air and 2 on the ground—as the Eagles racked up 390 total yards of offense. They balanced their attack with 160 rushing yards and 230 passing yards, keeping the Falcons’ defense on its heels.

The Eagles took control early, scoring first with a touchdown pass from Hurts to tight end Albert Okwuegbunam. The Falcons tied it quickly with a Bijan Robinson rushing touchdown, but from there, Philadelphia never looked back. They scored 21 unanswered points, and even after Atlanta cut the lead to 10-21 late in the second quarter, the Eagles responded immediately. A crucial interception by Jessie Bates III gave the Falcons a chance to close the gap, but a Kirk Cousins fumble allowed the Eagles to extend their lead to 28-10 before halftime. Atlanta finished with 365 total yards (157 rushing, 208 passing), but costly turnovers and missed opportunities kept them from mounting a serious comeback.

“We never let them get comfortable,” said Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. “The offense clicked, and our defense made the big plays when it mattered.”

Key Performers

Jalen Hurts led the Eagles with 230 passing yards, 3 TDs, and 47 rushing yards with 2 rushing TDs. Jahan Dotson caught 4 passes for 61 yards and 2 TDs, while Quez Mitchell had an 83-yard interception return that stifled any hope of a Falcons rally. For Atlanta, Bijan Robinson was the lone bright spot, rushing for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Injuries

The Eagles reported no injuries following the game, while the Falcons were without DT Eddie Goldman due to an undisclosed injury before the game.

Up Next

The Falcons will return home in Week 3 to face Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Eagles, now 2-0, will travel to take on Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints.
