Arlington, TX — Kellen Moore’s latest stint in Dallas has come to a close.
The Dallas Cowboys announced they have parted ways with the backup quarterback on Thursday, days after Cooper Rush was promoted to the No. 2 quarterback role. Rush has proved to be a valuable asset, especially after coming in to take over following Prescott’s injury in week 1 of this season.
The team previously released Moore after season 7 and was resigned by the Cowboys at the start of season 9. Moore entered training camp as Dak Prescott’s primary backup — despite not having played a single snap since season 7. As a vested veteran, Moore is not subject to waivers.
In a corresponding move, the Cowboys promoted tight end Blake Jarwin from their practice squad.
