Salem, OR — So here we are, about to begin another season of Madden and if there’s one thing we’re all scratching our heads about is salaries and the cap penalties, “How do they work?”, “Are they messed up?”, “Things don’t match-up!!” and so on.
Below is a video created by YouTuber Jacob Reid. In the video, Reid breaks down exactly how a player’s salary works, what his cap penalty means when trading them and how it will affect your team. The video is 30+ minutes, but trust us it’s worth sitting down and listening to Reid explain it all.
Finally, a video that made sense! Lot’s of good stuff, nice to know it’s not just myself confused about how some of the numbers work. Hopefully, this helps others in the league.
Ahh man why does it have to be so complicated lol
Got about half way through the video. Definitely worth a watch and I’ll finish it up tomorrow.
Oooo, I’ll have to check it out!
Bro….are those lemons!?
😂😂, yes juicy lemons!
I listened to it while I was in traffic. I will have to watch it again. It is worth watching if you are curious about it. I just hope there is a summary at the end.
Great explanation by Reid. Better late than never!
Nice, I’m glad I was careful about my cap. I didn’t understand most of the things he explained before, but now I’m REALLY glad I took it easy and only signed FA that I needed and most to low contracts.
Good info, about time someone explained it right. It’s sad EA can provide some instructions in the game on how it works.
So my main issue this season was going to be renegotiating contracts. After watching this video, it should go off next year’s cap (like it should) and I should ha e a decent amount t of money to hold on to the guys I want.
This should help out tremendously thanks for showing us this.
A 30 minute video trying to explain this just proves how ridiculous this is to have in a video game. In my opinion the stupid cap penalties ruin this game. I’m about to stop playing forever because of it.
Does anyone know if cap penalties can be turned off in the league settings? I am not sitting in front of my PS4 to check myself. Thanks!!!
Yes, you can turn them off in the league settings.
