Broncos edge Raiders 16–14 to snap three-game skid under primetime lights

DENVER, CO - Under the lights of Empower Field, the Denver Broncos ended their three-game skid with a gritty 16-14 win over the division rival Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football. In a game defined by defense and field position, Denver's relentless pass rush and efficient offense did just enough to hand the Raiders their fifth loss of the season.

Broncos grind out early momentum

Denver (5-5) set the tone early behind quarterback Bo Nix, who capped a 75-yard opening drive with a 17-yard rushing touchdown by Jaleel McLaughlin. The rookie passer stayed poised, completing 14 of 17 attempts for 149 yards and a 2-yard touchdown to Marvin Mims Jr. in the second quarter to extend the lead to 13-0. Nix also added 49 rushing yards on three scrambles, including a 40-yard dash that ignited the home crowd.

Raiders rally but fall short

The Raiders (3-6) clawed back late in the first half, cutting the deficit with a 1-yard touchdown run by Ashton Jeanty. Jeanty scored again in the fourth quarter from two yards out, finishing with 12 carries for 13 yards and both of Las Vegas' touchdowns. Quarterback Jalen Milroe threw for 204 yards and added 74 on the ground, but two costly interceptions-including one by Alex Singleton in the second half-proved too much to overcome.

Defense bends but doesn't break

Denver's defense harassed Milroe throughout the night, recording five sacks-four of them courtesy of Nik Bonitto. Brandon Jones and Singleton each added interceptions, while the front seven held the Raiders to just 98 rushing yards on 19 carries. Though Las Vegas outgained the Broncos in total yards (354-338), Denver's defensive discipline made the difference, forcing two turnovers and limiting big plays.

Special teams seal the deal

After a missed extra point early, kicker Wil Lutz delivered when it mattered, converting a 25-yard field goal in the third quarter that ultimately proved to be the game-winner. The Broncos' ball control-291 yards of total offense, zero turnovers, and 32 minutes of possession-was enough to fend off a late Raiders push.
