ORCHARD PARK, NY — The Buffalo Bills came into Week 13 riding a two-game win streak, but they had no answer for a career-best performance from Brock Purdy and Brandon Aiyuk as the 49ers triumphed 41-24. Purdy threw for 381 yards and six touchdowns, his most ever in a single game, and Aiyuk, who had yet to find the end zone this season, exploded with four touchdown receptions.
Buffalo started strong, with Josh Allen hitting Curtis Samuel for a 74-yard score early. But San Francisco answered immediately. Aiyuk’s first touchdown, a 6-yard grab, tied the game. Purdy’s second-quarter barrage, which included two more touchdowns—one to Aiyuk and one to George Kittle—put the 49ers ahead 21-17 at halftime.
The 49ers dominated the second half, with Purdy tossing two more touchdowns to Aiyuk and one to Kittle. On the defensive side, Nick Bosa and Drake Jackson combined for five sacks, while the defense held Buffalo scoreless in the third quarter.
After last week’s disappointment against Green Bay, Purdy bounced back in spectacular fashion, notching his second streak of three games without an interception, something he hadn’t done since his rookie year in Season 27. “We executed in every phase today. I’m proud of how we responded,” said Purdy.
Aiyuk’s performance was the highlight of his season, as he tallied his first touchdowns of the year, breaking out in a big way.
Josh Allen’s 408 passing yards and three touchdowns weren’t enough to match Purdy and the 49ers’ efficient offense, and Buffalo’s two-game win streak was snapped.
