Kansas City, MO — Less than twenty four hours since the announcement of coach Mark Miller leaving the Carolina Panthers, the Kansas City Chiefs have announced they are hiring him as their new head coach. “We are extremely happy to announce coach Miller as our next head coach. We believe he has the knowledge to take our young and talented group to the next level and we can’t wait for him to get started” said Chiefs general manager Brett Veach.

Miller will take over a Chiefs team that finished 7-9 for a second straight season and hasn’t had a winning season since Season 10, when they finished with a record of 10-6. Season 10 was also the last time the Chiefs made the playoffs where they eventually lost to the Oakland Raiders in the divisional round.
