In an unexpected shootout, the Indianapolis Colts (4-2) came away Sunday with a 35-31 victory over the Cleveland Browns (1-6). The Colts were led by a near perfect outing from Andrew Luck. Luck was 18-22 for 303 yards and 3 TD’s on the day including an eventual game winning touchdown pass to Coby Fleener just after the two minute warning. The previous two weeks the Colts defense and running game stepped up to help get the job done. Today, with neither team forcing the other team to punt, it was the offense that brought home the Colts third win in a row. Brandon Weeden threw for 221 yards and 2 scores for the Browns in a losing effort.
Coach Jellison had this to say after the game: “While you never want to have a game where you defense really never shows up, it was nice to see Luck step up and put the team on his shoulders. It isn’t easy coming in here and taking over for a Future Hall of Famer but Andrew is growing into a great leader for our team. ”
The Browns play host the the Chargers next week while the Colts head to Tennessee next week to play the Titans in a divisional match up that is sure to produce fireworks!
